A cylinder head is one of the riskiest used parts to buy sight-unseen — a hairline crack or a warped deck face turns a bargain into a blown head gasket. That is why every head we list is pressure tested for cracks and checked for warp before it goes on the shelf.
Not sure whether you need a head or a complete engine? If the block is damaged or the bottom end is worn, a full used engine is usually the better buy. If the block is healthy and the damage is confined to the top end, a tested head at R2,800–R8,900 saves you thousands.

Each head is pressure tested for cracks and checked against tolerance for warp on the deck face before listing. Details are on our How We Test page.
If our warp check shows the head is within tolerance it can usually be fitted as-is with a new gasket, but your machine shop can confirm against your engine’s spec.
